WHAT IS PROSOCIAL?

PROSOCIAL represents a fusion of scientific disciplines from a unified theoretical perspective. It relies centrally upon the work of Elinor Ostrom, who won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2009 for identifying the design features that cause a certain kind of group to perform well.  

 

PROSOCIAL will include an internet platform that any group can join. It will also include a worldwide network of trainers that can be engaged as the group-level equivalent of a therapist or life coach. It will provide a way for groups to communicate directly with each other. And it will constitute a scientific database for further studying and improving the performance of groups.

 

When PROSOCIAL becomes available, it will allow thousands and even hundreds of thousands of groups to benefit from the most recent scientific knowledge and to become active participants in future scientific inquiry. The market for PROSOCIAL and the prospects for improving human welfare are huge.
